According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 306,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized (HDG) sheets and strips in February this year, falling by 17% compared to the previous month and by 27% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 72,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 14.6% and a year-on-year increase of 9.3%. Other major import sources were Brazil (around 18,800 tons), Mexico (around 18,400 tons), South Korea (around 11,000 tons), and Vietnam (around 10,100 tons).

During the period, the import value totaled roughly US$192 million, down by 17.7% month on month and by 38.9% year on year.
