A 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey along the Syrian border on February 6. Taiwan’s YC Inox said its invested stainless steel tube plant is located near Istanbul, about 1,000 kilometers away from the earthquake area, so the operation of the plant wasn’t affected. As a manufacturer investing in Turkey, YC Inox said it will provide necessary assistance to meet local needs.

Regarding the outlook for the stainless steel market, YC Inox thought that the demand for stainless steel has recovered since the fourth quarter of last year, and the performance in the first half of this year will be better than that in the second half of last year.

China has eased epidemic control measures, and inflation in the US has also slowed down. At present, only the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war is continuing, so whether to return to normal market conditions remains to be seen.
