The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced a €21.4 million loan to Serbian long products producer Metalfer Steel Mill.

The loan will be used for green steel production, including the construction of a new rolling mill to process scrap and semi-finished products to improve efficiency and reduce emissions, as well as a new mini-solar power plant that can generate up to 4 megawatts of renewable energy.

The increased production will allow Metalfer to meet the needs of the domestic construction industry.
