Market impact of Indonesia's Q3 export tariffs on nickel pig iron & ferronickel

8 Aug 2022 16:33 reported by Blanca

A A A
In order to consider the development of the domestic nickel industry, Indonesia will implement an export policy for some nickel-derived products.

It was said that Indonesia will levy an export tax on nickel pig iron and ferronickel in the third quarter. In terms of price, it will not have a positive impact, but because the market has reduced its anxiety about Indonesia's restrictions on ferronickel exports, it will have a substantial negative impact on nickel prices.

As for China's ferronickel market, if the taxation ratio is low, the impact on the ferronickel market will be minimal.
