The president of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) released the news that it will invest over RMB 150 billion in a new batch of ultra-high voltage (UHV) power transmission projects across China in the second half year.

In the first half of this year, SGCC has built 11 of these kinds of projects, and the total length was around 6,828 km with an investment of RMB 90 billion.

In the future, SGCC is considering accomplishing electricity transmission in the desert and other similar areas. The officer of the National Energy Administration said UHV projects would help long-distance electricity transmission and help use the resources efficiently like green energy, which is the central part of the energy supply system.
