The three-day Global Stainless Steel Expo (GSSE) 2022 kicked off last Tuesday at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. This was the first stainless steel event in the world organized to promote the interests of the stainless steel industry.
A report indicated that the demand for stainless steel in the fiscal year 2022 was expected to increase by 19.5%-21% to 3.7-3.9 million tons, due to a low base, a stable macroeconomic environment, and the normalization of government spending.
According to Managing Director at Jindal Stainless Abhyuday Jindal, the ministry has taken various measures to promote the steel industry, such as the introduction of the National Steel Policy 2017, which focuses on scrap recycling, quality control orders, and so on.
K K Pahuja, President of the Indian Stainless Steel Development Association, said the stainless steel industry is committed to playing a role in nation-building, providing sustainable solutions to various sectors.
