Taiwan’s Tang Eng raises stainless steel prices for Feb

To reflect the recent surging international nickel prices, Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., one of the main stainless steel manufacturers in Taiwan, raised its new prices of stainless steel products for February.
According to the price adjustment, the price of 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless was hiked by NT$5,000/ton, that of 200 series and 430 products wasn’t announced, and the surcharge of 316L was raised by NT$2,000/ton. The base price of 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled for exporting was up by US$130-200/ton depending on different regions.
Market participants the average nickel price of January is significantly higher than that in the previous month. Tang Eng’s new prices for next month are in line with market expectations.
