Taiwan’s 300 series stainless steel HRC price hits 7-year high in Nov

According to statistics, Taiwan’s imports of 300 series stainless steel hot-rolled coils amounted to around 39,200 tons in November, falling by nearly 21% from the previous month. The import volume has reduced for four months in a row.
However, the average price of 300 series stainless steel HRC soared to NT$80,600/ton levels during the period, hiking by more than NT$4,600 month on month. This figure has hiked for five consecutive months, hitting a new high in the past seven years.
In the first 11 months of this year, Taiwan’s imports of 300 series stainless steel HRC totaled around 635,000 tons, close to the total import volume last year. The average import price has risen to nearly NT$62,900/ton.
Based on the current import situation, Taiwan’s 300 series stainless steel HRC imports will increase for four consecutive years this year, with greatly rebounded import prices.
