The international nickel price has risen back to the US$20,000/ton level. Supported by the raw material prices of the stainless steel market, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., two leading stainless steel upstream suppliers in Taiwan, were expected to continue to raise their prices, and their operation performance also maintained optimistic.

Tang Eng posted its EPS of NT$3.15 in the first three quarters of this year, hitting a 16-year high, with a booming prospect in the fourth quarter. Yusco’s operation has also reached a new high in more than a decade.

Driven by nickel prices, the increase in international stainless steel prices was more than drops. Both Yusco and Tang Eng continued to increase their prices from October to November, showing that Taiwan’s stainless steel mills’ business is still booming.
