Taiwan's stainless steel upstream raises price, downstream may follow

According to the latest information, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), one of the leading stainless steelmakers in Taiwan, decided to raise its stainless steel price for October, mainly because of the increasing cost driven by the Chinese limited power policy.

The scale of increase from Yusco did shock the market, and most of the market participants believed those downstream stainless steelmakers might follow this trend.

For the rest of this year, most of the market participants believed the stainless steel price would continue strong.
