Russia has higher demand for stainless steel in H1 2021

8 Sep 2021 15:44 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
In the first half of this year, Russia’s consumption of stainless steel totaled 273,000 tons, growing by 27.3% compared to the same period a year ago. Among them, the demand for cold-rolled flat stainless steel was up by 13.3%, that for long products hiked by 15.2%, and the wire demand had a year-on-year increase of nearly 44%.

The increase was due to demand recovery, which was probably driven by market activities after the COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures were eased.

During the reporting period, Russia’s stainless steel imports occupied 75.3% of the nation’s total consumption.
