Global nickel & stainless steel outlook keeps improving

With the continuous growing manufacturing and economic output, global demand for metals kept increasing and the market of nickel and stainless steel recyclers is improving.

The demand, which was previously suppressed due to output suspension caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, rebounded greatly, and the hiking prices of nickel and finished steel products were also the supporting factors for the stainless steel market.

Despite the government and investors’ concerns about the industrial output impacted by higher prices, there were more market forecasts about the rising stainless steel production and nickel prices for this year.

According to the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), global stainless steel melt shop production in the first quarter of this year increased by 24.7% year on year to 14.5 million tons.
