Turkey's CRC imports slide in Q1 y-o-y

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported around 157,400 tons of cold-rolled coil (CRC) in the first quarter of this year, sliding by 32.6% compared to the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Russia accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 110,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.2%. Ukraine ranked second with around 10,400 tons, up by 22.8% year on year; followed by the Netherlands’ 9,500 tons, rising by 49.2% year on year.
During the period, the import value totaled approximately US$108.3 million, declining by 8.6% from the same period a year earlier.
In March alone, Turkey's CRC imports had a month-on-month increase of 2.3% and a year-on-year decrease of 25.2% to roughly 48,300 tons.
