IABr: Brazil's crude steel production increases in Oct y-o-y

According to data from the Brazil Steel Institute (IABr), the country's crude steel production reached 2.8 million tons this October, an increase of 3.5% compared to the same month last year.
On the other hand, domestic steel sales grew by 16.7% compared to October of last year, reaching 1.9 million tons, while the apparent consumption of steel products in the country during this month was 2.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%.
Cumulative crude steel production in the first ten months of 2020 was 25.1 million tons, a decrease of 8.5% over the same period last year. Domestic sales were 15.6 million tons, a decrease of 1.0%. The apparent consumption was 17.2 million tons, a fall of 2.9% on the same basis of comparison.
