Japan’s crude steel production declines in Apr-Oct y-o-y

According to data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), the production of crude steel in Japan totaled around 44.29 million tons in the first seven months of this fiscal year, declining by 24.7% compared to the same period a year ago.

In October, Japan’s crude steel output amounted to roughly 7.2 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 11% and a year-on-year decrease of 11.7%.
