According to statistics from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), Russian stainless steel production was 15,600 tons in September, decreasing by 16.3% from the same month a year ago and down by 14.5% compared to the previous month.
The production in the first nine months of this year amounted to 106,000 tons, hiking by 1.9% year on year.
The Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA) date shoed that Russia’s stainless steel inventory grew in the second quarter due to the lower demand during the period.
Russia’s stainless steel demand kept stable since the main consumers were companies in nuclear energy and power engineering, shipbuilding, defense industry, and oil and gas complex, all of which had sufficient funds and long-term plans.
