Walsin Lihwa, one of the main stainless steel manufacturers in Taiwan, announced to hike its products for October this morning (September 28).
According to the price announcement, the price of 304 stainless steel wire rod and steel plate was both hiked by NT$1,000/ton, and the base price of exported wire rod and steel plate was up by US$50/ton.
The monthly average price of nickel reached US$14,884/ton in September, higher than US$14,567/ton in the previous month. Therefore, Walsin Lihwa decided to raise its prices in order to reflect raw material costs.
After Walsin Lihwa announces its October prices, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., two leading stainless steel upstream suppliers in Taiwan, were also expected to hike their prices for next month.
