According to statistics from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), Russian stainless steel production was 18,200 tons in August, increasing by 19.3% from the same month a year ago and up by 9.8% compared to the previous month.

The production in the first eight months of this year amounted to 90,200 tons, hiking by 4.4% year on year.

The Russian Special Steel and Alloys Consumers and Suppliers Association (USSA) said that Russian stainless steel demand kept stable since the main consumers were companies in nuclear energy and power engineering, shipbuilding, defense industry, and oil and gas complex, all of which had sufficient funds and long-term plans.
