China’s stainless steel production rises in 2019

According to statistics released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), the production of stainless steel in China had a year-on-year increase to nearly 25 million tons in 2019, while that in other countries decreased year on year.
In 2019, the production in China accounted for 56.3% of the total output in the world, rising by 10% compared to the previous year. The output in Europe had a year-on-year decrease of 7.9%, the US’ output fell by 7.6%, and the output in the rest regions of Asia dropped by 3.7%. The year-on-year reduction in some areas such as Brazil, Russia and South Africa was 2.0%.
