Indian consumption per capita of stainless steel hits record high in 2019

The Indian Steel Minister Mr. Kulaste said when he attended the ceremony of the 30th-anniversary celebration for Indian Stainless Steel Development Association (ISSDA) that India's stainless steel consumption per capita hiked to new level 2.5 kgs in 2019 which was more than 100% raised against 1.2 kgs per capita in 2010.

According to statistics, in 1989, the yearly consumption of stainless steel in India was only 20,000 tons, but it has reached 3.2 million tons during 2018-2019. It was a hundred times increased. The growing Indian market has become a target for the other ASEAN producers.
