Japan’s HR stainless steel production decreases y-o-y in H1, 2019

According to the official report from Japan, the hot-rolled (HR) stainless steel production in this June was 216,000 tons, dropped by 13.3% year on year, and 8% month on month.

Moreover, in the first six months of this year, the total HR stainless steel capacity was around 1.35 million tons, dropped by 9.8% year on year.

Among them, the products with bar got around 84,000 tons, plate products with around 9,000 tons, pipe products with around 151,000 tons, steel plate by around 85,000 tons, and strip with around 901,000 tons.
