NSSC raises nickel series stainless steel prices for Sep

Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corporation (NSSC), the largest stainless steel manufacturer in Japan, announced on September 5th that it raised the domestic prices of SUS304 and other nickel series stainless steel cold-rolled sheet and plate by 15,000 yen/ton for September 2019’s contracts due to the increased nickel prices.

However, NSSC maintained the prices for SUS430 and other chrome series cold-rolled stainless steel sheet, which have been kept unchanged for 4 consecutive months.

According to the price adjustment, the base price for nickel series stainless steel products was remained flat but the alloy surcharge was up by 15,000 yen/ton. The base price for chrome series stainless steel products was raised by 5,000 yen/ton and the alloy surcharge was cut by 5,000 yen/ton.
