Taiwanese stainless steel mills may increase price for Jul
24 Jun 2019 15:05 reported by Claude Tseng
The price of nickel from the London Metal Exchange (LME) rebounded to nearly US$12,000/ton last week.
Many Taiwanese local customers purchased for inventory and the deal price was increased by NT$1,000~2,000/ton. In addition, the Indonesia Tsingshan raised twice for its export price.
If the nickel price remained at a high price level, distributors might stop offering price and wait for the new price from upstream mills. Taiwanese major upstream stainless steel mills would announce a new price for July end of this week.
It was expected that the mills might raise their prices for July due to the continuous growth in nickel prices.
