Japanese stainless steel imports up in Apr m-o-m

According to the official statistics, Japan imported a total of around 21,000 tons of stainless steel products in April this year, up by 8.5% compared to the same month a year ago. Among the imports from major import countries, China had month-on-month drop of 12.3%, South Korea had a hike of 26.3%, Taiwan fell by 47.3%, and the US rose by 9.3%.

The imports of special steel products, excluding stainless steel products, totaled around 47,800 tons, down by 22.2% month on month.
