Japanese stainless steel exports drop in 2018 y-o-y

According to the statistics, Japan exported a total of around 976,000 tons of stainless steel products in 2018, dropping by 1.5% compared to the previous year.
Among them, the top 3 destination were China with the amount of around 177,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.1%; South Korea had around 136,000 tons, a year-on-year decline of 11.4%; Taiwan had 83,000 tons roughly, a year-on-year reduction of 16.2%.
Besides, in 2018, the exports of Japanese special steel, including tool steel, structural steel and stainless steel, amounted to approximately 8 million tons, showing a decrease of 3.3% from 2017.
