Yieh United Steel Corp (Yusco) has placed an order for a stainless steel cold-strip annealing and pickling line from the Germany’s International Technology Group Andritz. Yusco’s order for the line that has in-line skin-pass mill and straightening line is valued at around €30 million. The new line will have an estimated annual capacity of around 250, 000 tons. Production at the new line is expected to start in autumn 2007. Andritz will provide complete engineering works as well as the start-up of the entire plant and the supply of all major parts. In addition, the pickling line, automation, furnace and mechanical equipment will be based on proprietary technologies developed by Andritz. (May 4)
