Walsin Lihwa invested NT$2.7 billion to establish a subsidiary company Walsin Energy Cable System Co., Ltd. (Walsin Cable). The company will sign joint venture contracts with Danish cable manufacturer NKT for Walsin’s further development in the submarine cable field.

Walsin will hold 90% of the equity and NKT will take 10% of Walsin Cable. The trial production was expected at the end of 2025 and begin operation in 2027.

Walsin's board of directors decided to obtain special technical authorization and services related to wind power submarine cables from Danish NKT Group's NKT HV Cables AB, to strengthen the company's technology and product development in the submarine cable industry.

In addition, Walsin is optimistic about stainless steel, resources, and wires and cables in the future market.
