According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 99,000 tons of wire rods in July this year, declining by 10.5% compared to the previous month while soaring by 168% from the same month a year ago.

Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 28,400 tons, a month-on-month increase of 7.2% and a year-on-year hike of 9.4%. The other import sources included Egypt (around 21,700 tons), Algeria (around 9,300 tons), Brazil (around 9,100 tons), and Japan (around 8,500 tons).

During the period, the import value totaled nearly US$86 million, up by 2.3% month on month and surging by 225.4% year on year.
