According to the preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the total amount of hot-rolled coil (HRC) imports in the US in April was approximately 105,000 tons, down by 14.3% month on month and down by 27.7% year on year.

The import value in April was around US$62.5 million, down from around US$73.7 million in the previous month and down from around US$96 million in April of last year.

Among them, most of the US' HRC imports were from Canada, totaling around 50,000 tons, down from 85,000 tons in March but keeping stable compared to April 2019. South Korea ranked second with around 37,700 tons, New Zealand ranked third with around 5,000 tons, the Netherlands ranked fourth with around 4,300 tons, and Mexico was in the fifth position with roughly 2,200 tons.
