According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported 52,000 tons of stainless steel flat steel in January, increasing by 40% compared to the same month a year ago.

Among them, imports from South Korea totaled 21,000 tons, a three-fold year-on-year increase. China ranked second with a supply of 20,000 tons, up by 25% year on year.

Despite an increase in import tariffs in 2024 and the launch of an anti-dumping (AD) investigation last June on imports of cold-rolled stainless steel flat steel from China and Indonesia, Turkey still increased its imports of such products.
