Although scrap and rebar prices have dropped recently in Taiwan’s domestic market, pushing all steel long product prices downward, Taiwan’s Tung Ho Steel Enterprise maintained its September H beam price at the same level, as in August, NT$36,000/ton.

Tung Ho, which has about 70 percent of the domestic market share, said that the strong H beam demand from overseas markets, especially from Middle East countries, South East Asia countries and eastern Europe, and the decreasing scrap price have helped to keep costs down; therefore, the company’s third quarter business operation still looks positive.
