It is reported that Tharisa Minerals, a chrome producer, stated that there would be a great global chrome ore deficit, around one million tons in total. According to its financial record in 2017, it produced output of 1.3 million chrome concentrates and planned to increase its output to 2 million tons by 2020.

In order to reach the goal, Tharisa Minerals was dedicated its effort to mining upgrade and two new projects on plants. Both of these two new plants were forecasted to be completed by the end of this year.

It believed that the strong demand on chrome ore was contributed by the growth in stainless steel production. China, as the main producer and consumer role in the world, continued its environment protection policy, its capacity of ferrochrome would be still an upstream this year based upon the source.
