Spanish steelmaker Celsa is considering the sale of its Huta Ostrowiec plant in Poland, which generates around 20% of the group’s total revenue, as part of broader efforts to cut debt.

Following a change in ownership in April 2024, Celsa reduced its debt by 48% to EUR 1.896 billion currently, but additional asset disposals remain on the table to restore profitability by 2026.

The Huta Ostrowiec plant produces reinforcing steel and special boron steel, employing over 2,000 people.

The company's main goals are to enhance profitability and reduce debt.
