Germany-based metal processor Knauf Interfer held a groundbreaking ceremony on August 28 to launch a major expansion of its Delta Stahl facility in Barsinghausen. The investment not only increases capacity but also focuses on efficiency and sustainability, signaling a strong commitment to Germany’s industrial base.

The project will add two new production halls totaling 6,373 m², expanding the site to more than 24,000 m². A key feature is the installation of a state-of-the-art cut-to-length line, aimed at boosting precision, efficiency, and delivery performance, scheduled to start operations in summer 2026.

At the same time, the site’s existing rail link will be upgraded into a full loading and unloading facility to cut logistics-related emissions.

CEO/CFO Dr. Carsten G. Gast said the move strengthens competitiveness while driving transformation.
