According to South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), as of June 12, the sixth day of the South Korean truckers’ strike, approximately 450,000 tons of steel transportation were impacted, worth 697.5 billion won.

The failure in reaching an agreement with truckers to increase their wage led to the strike, which disrupted the transportation of goods, thereby affecting the delivery of steel raw materials and related products.

South Korea’s Cargo Truckers Solidarity Union and the government reached an agreement on late Tuesday regarding the minimum pay and other guarantee systems. The 8-day strike finally ended, and truckers will return to work on June 15.
