According to the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA), South Korean steel exports fell significantly in June due to the slowdown in the emerging market economy and the trade war between China and the US.

South Korean steel exports totaled around 2.4 million tons in June, a month-on-month drop of 9.4% and a year-on-year decrease of 9%.

In June, South Korean steel export value amounted to around US$2.4 billion, down by 8.1% compared to the previous month. The steel market in South Korea was expected to be pessimistic in the second half this year due to the global protectionism.
