South Korea Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, Samsung Heavy Industries Co., the major shipbuilders have expected their ship orders reduced in 2007.

International ship lines have ordered vessels to carry more oil, gas and other products which have push volumes to be increased tremendously for shipbuilders. The rising cost of steel plate for the ship hulls have slower down the order volumes for 2007.

South Korean shipyards have took 50 percent of world's ship orders last year. The top-three shipbuilders have set a target of US$36 billion in sales this year, when it was US$37.4 billion in 2006.
