According the report of World Journal, a high ranked official of Republic of El Salvador, Mr. Jaime Miranda said on a convention with South Korea representative that Central America plans to begin the free trade agreement (FTA) talk with South Korea next year.

Mr. Miranda believes that there is lots of potential for growth in trade between Central America and South Korea.

According to the data, in 2010 the value of import to Central America (excluding Panama and Belize) from South Korea was US$ 615 million; the value of export from Central America (excluding Panama and Belize) to South Korea was US$188 million.
