South Africa exported 6.4 million tons of iron ore in May, down by 2.3% from the same month of last year.

Among them, exports to China totaled 4.19 million tons, with an average price of US$61.6/ton. China has been the South Africa’s largest export market over the past two years.

Besides, India occupied 724,000 tons, with an average price of US$67.1/ton. South Africa exported some 27.24 million tons of iron ore in the first five months of this year, reducing by 4.4% than the same time of last year.
