Turkey's scrap imports have m-o-m increase in Jul

Statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) showed that Turkey's scrap imports reached 1.47 million tons in July, rising by 22% compared to the previous month but dropping by 7.7% year on year.

For the first time, the UK became Turkey's top scrap supplier, shipping 333,600 tons, a 33% year-on-year increase. The US ranked second with nearly 280,000 tons, followed by the Netherlands at 243,000 tons.

In 2024, Turkey’s scrap imports amounted to 20.1 million tons, hiking by 6.7% compared to 2023.
