Due to weak demand and production cut, Swedish Sandvik faced its net operating losses in the second quarter of 2009.

Its sales decreased significantly by about 35 percent compared with same period of 2008, and its loss amounted to US$2 billion.

Although demands from energy sector recovered recently, the global economic recession has already hurt the company badly.
