According to data, Russia exported 171 thousand tons of pig iron in April, dropped substantially by 60.3% from March; also, it decreased by 23.1% in comparison of that in last April.

Among them, 37.1 thousand tons were exported to Turkey, down by 57.7%; 37 thousand tons were to Italy, increased by 24.2%; 36 thousand tons were to the US.

The data also showed that the country’s pig iron exports in the first four months of this year totaled 1.284 million tons, down by 2.2% year on year.

Accordingly, it’s estimated that Russia’s pig iron exports in the entire 2011 would be at 3.85 million tons.
