According to a report released by Russian mining giant Norilsk Nickel (Nornickel), in the third quarter of 2021, Nornickel's nickel production rose by 55% quarter on quarter to 51,000 tons. The increase was due to the completion of rehabilitation work at the Taimyrsky mine after groundwater flooding and the improved production at the Norilsk Concentrator due to the use of mobile crushers.

Taimyrsky mine and Norilsk Concentrator were scheduled to resume full capacity in December this year. The reduction in Norilsk Nickel Harjavalta is due to planned maintenance.

In the first nine months of 2021, Nornickel production fell by 23% year on year to 130,000 tons, according to the report.
