South Africa’s Richards Bay Coal Terminal saw their October coal exports fall compared to the previous month. Exports totaled 5.74 million tons compared to the 7.12 million tons in September. But the company added that as a result the closure of RBCT at the end of August due to bad weather, export numbers in August were higher than usual. Coal exports during the first 10 months of the year 53.53 million. Rail and production problems have caused total export capacity to drop from 2005 to 2006 but instead by initiating Phase V expansion plan will indeed to increase export capacity 10 tons more by yearly in 2009.
