Poseidon Nickel would start drilling high-grade nickel at Abi Rose in Western Australia. Abi Rose was located at around 360 meters in north of the previous Emily Ann nickel mine.

The company hoped that the drilling would extend the mineralised zone to reach an economic nickel deposit. This project would appoint Mitchell Drilling Services to start three diamond holes for 1,500 meters. Additionally, the project would start at the end of September of 2018. High-grade nickel was discovered at Abi Rose in 2016.

In the intersections of two higher grade intervals of 5.72m at 5.72m at 4.66% nickel and 1.29m at 10.22% nickel were discovered at that time. The other intersections were 0.19m at 10.20%, and 1.13m at 3.35% nickel, including 0.26m at 8.67% nickel.
