Nucor is the largest rebar fabricator in North America, and the company will invest more than US$20 million in building a new rebar plant in North Carolina.

Nucor said it decided to add a rebar micro mill in Lexington due to economic growth in the region and other southeastern states, which will serve infrastructure and non-residential construction projects in the future.

Nucor has a history of investing in Lexington, and this new project is expected to create more industry jobs.
