According to the data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) and the US International Trade Commission (USITC), Mexican carbon and alloy steel exports to the US totaled around 214,000 tons in June, down by 23.9% compared to the same month a year ago, also down by 37.4% from the previous month, which was the lowest volume in 2018.

After the US announced to impose tariffs on Mexican steel and aluminum, some Mexican steel producers and suppliers suspended their exports to the US and wanted to reach the agreement with US’ purchasers.
