Liberty Ostrava, the largest integrated steel mill in the Czech Republic, had supplied seamless tubes for Iraq’s West Qurna oil field, one of the world’s biggest oil fields, which was said a total supply of nearly 11 kilometers of seamless tubes.

The company produced these tubes with vacuum degassed steel, high-quality steel that had high resistance to acid and heat. The tubes could resist temperature as high as 80°C due to equipped with insulation materials.

The tubes had been through several tests to confirm the quality, so the company was proud they successfully completed this significant order amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The West Qurna oil filed possessed up to 14 billion barrels of oil and it belonged to the state-run Iraq National Oil Company.
