India’s JSW Steel has announced plans to raise annual capacity at its Bellary plant by 60% to 16 million tons.

The company is expected to invest around Rs. 30,000 crore. Currently, JSW Steel is capable of producing 14.3 million tons per year.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, the company has produced 12.2 million tons of crude steel. The current operating ratio is 85%.

In May, JSW Steel just added one new cold rolling mill complex with 2.3 million tons of capacity. The new mill was the first Indian steel mill to produce outer body panels for cars.
