Jindal Steel International has acquired 100% of the shares in Czech largest rolled steel producer Vítkovice Steel, after receiving approval from the Czech Antimonopoly Committee (ÚOHS), which confirmed no injury would be brought to the market competition by the deal.

The deal supports Vítkovice Steel’s shift to green steel, backed by a 2023 partnership on low-carbon steel billet supplies.

The Jindal Group planned up to EUR 150 million in investments to expand production and create jobs at its Ostrava facility.
